"Distraction is the root of all failure"
Need I say more? It's a failure waiting to happen. Don't get too distracted; even if it's cute.
On the other hand, that is a really smart goose.

Fear and Beowulf
"He has overcome his fears will be truly be free" - Aristotle
This one is so cool because it's so true. Fear is the biggest emotion that's limiting anything, especially in a normal person. I think that fear goes beyond simply worrying because worrying doesn't do anything except make you anxious. Fear is an actual inhibitor; people will avoid circumstances at an unreasonable cost for the sake of avoiding that circumstance.
When I think of fearless, I think of Beowulf.

Now that we have an idea of how manly he ACTUALLY is (as opposed to letting us all sit with the idea of the horrible hollywood remake), let's get to the point: he's fearless. If anyone hasn't read Beowulf the bottom line is this: He goes and kills 3 epic monsters almost singlehandedly, runs a kingdom, and then sacrifices himself for said kingdom by taking out a dragon. This dude has balls of steel -- think of how free he must be. Nothing is too big for him. Nothing is limiting him; if he wants to achieve some goal, or protect something, he will proceed to do so. He doesn't consider the cost to his own life, he simply goes out and attacks the issue head on.
Of course, since he's Beowulf, he wins.
Duh.
We should be taking notes.
Remind me tomorrow to do this quote "I'm through with playing by the rules of someone else's game. Too late for second guessing, too late to go back too sleep. It's time to trust my instincts, close my eyes, and leave. It's time to try defying gravity. I think I'll try defying gravity and you can't pull me down."

Knowing nothing knows something.
Actually, forget the purpose I stated in the previous post. I'm just gonna post whatever quote I feel like.
"The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing" - Some guy.
This is true. I don't really know what else to say. We really don't know anything. Although that'd be amazing if we knew it all.

First Post ! This is thoroughly awesome.
Alrighty, so the point of this blog is have general quotes that relate to life as a whole, my thoughts on the quote, and then your thoughts on them. There may be some that are specific, but oh well. I am going to be posting in this blog once daily.
For my first quote, I do want to something that's kind of frivolous, so here it goes:
"I am a zizzer zazzer zuzz as you can plainly see" - Dr. Seuss.
I don't think this is obvious, so obviously I have a problem. I have a feeling I am not alone in this, however, because I'm sure there are many zizzer zazzer zuzz's (Do any rules of English plurality address nouns like this?) in our lives that are there, and are plain to see. The only problem is that we don't know it's a zizzer zazzer zuzz, because it's a zizzer zazzer zuzz. I'm not entirely sure what to do with this, to be perfectly honest. It seems to be staring at me in the face and pointing to itself as if I should know it. However, I obviously don't know what it is, nor should I be expected to know what on earth it is.
Despite the amazing frivolousness of a zizzer zazzer zuzz, I can't help but think that there are things out there that are like this in the fact that they are blatantly obvious, but we have no idea what to call them.
So what're your thoughts? Are there any better names other than a zizzer zazzer zuzz? Is it really plain to see? Are YOU a zizzer zazzer zuzz?
